Frequently asked

Does PostSlate upload my footage to the cloud?
No. All processing happens locally on your machine. Your footage, transcripts, and face data never leave your computer.
Which video editing software does PostSlate work with?
PostSlate exports arrangements and cuts to DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro via standard XML/EDL formats. It doesn't replace your NLE. It gets you into your timeline faster.
How does transcript search work?
PostSlate transcribes your footage automatically using on-device speech recognition. You can then search across every clip's transcript at once to find the exact moment you're looking for, with timestamps.
What is face search?
Face search lets you find every clip where a specific person appears. Identify someone once and PostSlate surfaces every shot of them across your entire project, including b-roll where you never logged them.
What platforms does PostSlate support?
PostSlate runs on Windows and Linux. macOS support is coming soon.
Is PostSlate free?
Yes, there's a free tier with 1 active project and 4 hours of footage, including bad-footage flagging and quality sorting. Paid plans start at $9/month for more projects, transcript search, and NLE export.
